CopperSpice Overview  1.5.2
Support for Unix

CopperSpice is a comprehensive application and UI library for developing Unix and Linux applications that can also be deployed across many other desktop and embedded operating systems without rewriting the source code. Use the code from one single code-base and rebuild for all for all supported platforms.

Class Library

The class library includes all the functionality needed to build advanced GUI applications.

  • Complete set of customizable UI controls/widgets
  • 3D graphics support with OpenGL
  • Powerful multi-threading features
  • 2D graphics canvas capable of handling millions of items
  • Integrated Phonon multimedia framework
  • WebKit integration
  • Networking, XML, and database functionality
  • ECMA standard scripting engine

Integrated Development Tools

Integrated development tools are available for the Unix and Linux platform.

  • Qt Designer provides a drag and drop visual GUI builder
  • Qt Linguist provides internationalization and translation features

Cross-Platform Development using Qt Creator

Qt Creator is a complete Cross-platform Integrated Development Environment. The IDE allows programmers to create, build, debug and run applications across all supported platforms. CopperSpice applications can easily use Qt Creator for CopperSpice application development.

GTK Support

The binary CopperSpice libraries have GTK support turned off.

If you want support for GTK you must build the CopperSpice libraries from source on a machine that has GTK development libraries installed. When GTK is detected at compile time, support will be added to CsGui. At run time of an application linked with this version of CsGui, the GTK libraries must be present on the target system.
