Customizing Designer Forms

You can create a form or screen layout using the the Qt Designer. The file will be saved with a .ui extension. The UI file contains all of the components to render a dialog, window, or menu. The information stored in this file is used by the UIC program to generate C++ code when building your application.

Refer to the following for information about running UIC. For information on how to create and edit a form refer to Using a Designer UI File in Your Application.

Modifying the Form Settings

To modify form settings open the Form menu and select Form Settings.

The following image shows the configuration settings. For example, the Author of the form can be specified. If you want to use a function to calculate the margins, check the corresponding Layout Function box and specify which function to use.

Another entry which can be defined is the Include Hints. This will provide a list of header files which are included in the form window's associated UI file. Header files may be local, relative to the project directory, or global.

The last entry allows specifying the function used to load pixmaps into the form window.
